The team members have a wide range of experience across the FMCG, supply chain, hospitality and retail sectors. Collectively, they have the knowledge and expertise to implement a successful deposit return scheme for Scotland.

David Harris
CEODavid brings 30 years’ experience from leadership roles in the plastics recycling and packaging industries, including 20 years as a senior manager and Director of British Polythene Industries PLC. His expertise includes management of complex international enterprises and the formation of private high growth businesses.
Tracey Irving
HR DirectorTracey brings significant HR, general management and strategic experience as a senior leader with extensive experience across multiple sectors. She started her career in House of Fraser, prior to moving to financial services. She has also worked in the energy and maritime sectors and was a member of the Organising Committee for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Tracey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personal & Development.
Simon Jones
Chief Operating OfficerSimon has over 25 years’ experience in logistics and distribution specialising in the retail sector delivering innovative solutions to drive down cost, whilst improving efficiency and delivery performance. Simon worked across the UK with Tesco in a variety of roles focused on service delivery and program management of automated warehousing. He moved to DHL in 2012 to deliver a change project for a large retailer, then managed a varied portfolio of contracts. Simon moved to Scotland in 2021.
Kerra McKinnie
Chief Marketing and Communications OfficerKerra joined Circularity Scotland in January 2023 from the Scottish National Investment Bank. She has extensive experience in communications, marketing and operations across FMCG, drinks, logistics and financial services.
Kerra is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Non-Executive Director of Scottish Women's Football.
Irene Steel
Chief Financial OfficerIrene has 20 years’ experience formulating and delivering strategic plans in PLC, SME and Charity sectors at Executive level. She qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland following her training with PWC where she was based in Edinburgh and Kyiv.
Irene has managed the financial operations for Marks & Spencer, Heineken, The Edrington Group and most recently as Finance Director of Genius Foods.
Tristan Turnbull
Commercial and Legal DirectorTristan worked for many years in John Menzies plc, including Head of Legal for both Menzies Distribution and Menzies Aviation. Latterly having several senior commercial roles in Menzies Aviation.
Prior to joining Menzies, he worked for a number of years in various roles in the Legal function of National Australia Group.
Derrick Wood
Chief Technology OfficerDerrick brings over 35 years’ experience of shaping and leading digitally enabled business change. He has worked in senior leadership positions for several international businesses, across a number of sectors and industries, including FMCG, Oil and Gas, Engineering Services, Govt Defence Contracting and Manufacturing.
Prior to joining Circularity Scotland, Derrick was CIO at Heineken UK. He was previously Global CIO for Wood Group and Chair of the Scottish CIO Forum.
