David brings 30 years’ experience from leadership roles in the plastics recycling and packaging industries, including 20 years as a senior manager and Director of British Polythene Industries PLC. His expertise includes management of complex international enterprises and the formation of private high growth businesses.

Simon Jones

Simon Jones

Chief Operating Officer

Simon has over 25 years’ experience in logistics and distribution specialising in the retail sector and a proven track record in delivering innovative solutions to drive down cost, whilst improving efficiency and delivery performance. Starting in Logistics with Tesco in 1994, Simon worked across the UK in a variety of roles focused on service delivery and program management of automated warehousing. He moved to DHL in 2012, to deliver a change project for a large retailer, then managed a varied portfolio of both B2C and B2B contracts. Simon moved to Scotland in 2021. 

Derrick Wood

Derrick brings over 35 years’ experience of shaping and leading digitally enabled business change. He has worked in senior leadership positions for several international businesses, across a number of sectors and industries, including FMCG, Oil and Gas, Engineering Services, Govt Defence Contracting and Manufacturing.

 Prior to joining Circularity Scotland, Derrick was CIO at Heineken UK where he led the digital and technology function, and amongst other achievements, guided an overall transformation programme focused on simplify business processes and supporting technology across the business, sponsored the delivery of a new B2B eCommerce platform and led the technical aspects of Heineken’s acquisition of a 2,000 pub estate.

 He has previously held positions of global CIO for Wood Group and as a former chair of the Scottish CIO Forum.

Commercial and Legal Director

Tristan worked for many years in John Menzies plc, including Head of Legal for both Menzies Distribution and Menzies Aviation. Latterly having several senior commercial roles in Menzies Aviation. Prior to joining Menzies, he worked for a number of years in various roles in the Legal function of National Australia Group. His role involves leading on the legal issues affecting our business and leading on our commercial relationships with members. He is building our Commercial team to help support our commercial development as we move towards go-live and beyond.

Tracey Irving

Tracey Irving

HR Director

Tracey brings significant HR, general management and strategic experience as a senior leader with extensive experience across multiple sectors. She has worked in HR since 1995 across various sectors, starting her career in House of Fraser, prior to moving to financial services working in UK and global banking institutions such as National Australia Group and Barclays, leading teams across the UK and Europe. She has also worked in the energy and maritime sectors and was a member of the Organising Committee for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Tracey has worked with a number of organisations shaping transformation programmes, organisational reviews and completed significant merger and acquisitions. She has also undertaken roles out with HR, leading operational areas of businesses and leading the delivery of commercial contract operations.

Tracey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personal & Development and a member since 1996 and holds a PG Diploma in Human Resources and Employment Law. In more recent years she studied at University of Edinburgh Business School.
